In the mid 1970’s the outstanding Italian mechanical industry created the “clotscanner”, a neat one-channel instrument for “automatic recording of thromboelastograms” produced by Elvi Spa
TEM-A, ThromboElastoMeter-Automated, provides a dynamic analysis of the mechanical behaviour of clotting blood.
TEM-A Instruments and Disposables comply with EEC Directive 98/79 for In Vitro Diagnostics and are manufactured under an ISO9000 Quality System assessed and certified yearly by authorised Auditors.

Besides Liver Transplant and Cardiosurgery, almost every other hospital specialty is involved in cases of patients that evidence actual or potential acute coagulation problems.
Our recommendation is that this POC instrument’s most valuable feature is the ability to show behaviour of native clotting blood. Most of the answers needed will be obtained from analysis
TEM-A has the unique feature of the automatic calibration before every test. When you press the virtual command “START”, the TemaWin software takes charge it notes the mechanical position
TEM-A is an instrument measuring the mechanical activity of a coagulating material: whatever material is pipetted into, the pin will release the data regarding its clotting behaviour
Citrated samples of blood can be reconstituted by adding 20µl of CaCl2 (CiTEMA) in the cup before pipetting 340µl of blood in it. The test should be run within a maximum of four hours
We are dedicated to special instrumentation for healthcare. We import and distribute in Italy instruments in many fields and related Intensive Care Units.
ContactWe manufacture and distribute worldwide the TEM-A, a blood coagulation analyser with thromboelastographic method and are continuously seeking foreign distributors for this special product line.
About usWe operate within a ISO9000 Quality System. All the instruments distributed and manufactured by our company comply with current EEC regulation related to their specific function.
ThromboelastographyThe invention of Thromboelastography is due to Eng. Helmut Hartert in the 1948’s, whom conceived the principle of measuring the strength of a blood sample during its clotting process against the known resistance of a spring.
Although the problem, interpretation and assessment of the many possible coagulation events that occur in blood is yet not fully uncovered nor their reasons fully understood, measuring the behaviour..
The Hartert invention is still applied today with excellent results and is supported by a massive amount of scientific literature. It consists of a cup containing a fresh sample of blood and constantly oscillating..
The results from a thromboelastography test depend on a number of factors that influence the measurement, besides the actual blood sample.
Both TEM-A and MonoTEM-A are based on the same independent analysis module(s).
